Daily routines to take care of your feet
Pay attention to these basic foot care tips.
Having beautiful, well-cared-for feet is simple, but it requires dedicating the necessary time and incorporating specific routines and treatments into your daily routine. In this article, we give you a series of ideas, tips, and basic foot care.
Feet are sometimes forgotten when it comes to body care, and we must keep them healthy all year round. We must keep in mind that we move around thanks to them, and they bear a heavy load every day (and we're not talking about the weight of our body).
In winter, we wear closed shoes and our feet are not visible. We often neglect them a little and need to give them more care when summer arrives.
There are many specific foot care options; below are some important guidelines for caring for your feet.
WASH YOUR FEET DAILY
It may seem obvious, but we should wash them with soap daily, preferably neutral; the water that falls when we shower is not enough.
DRY FEET
Just as important, if not more so, than washing your feet is taking the time to dry them completely. It's one of your basic daily foot care routines. Pay special attention to drying the area between your toes because moisture and heat are a source of bacteria and fungi.
Change your socks and shoes if they get wet. Also, change your socks frequently if your feet sweat excessively.
EXFOLIATE YOUR FEET
Removing dead skin cells, calluses, and corns is also important. We recommend visiting a podiatrist and undergoing podiatry treatment once a year.
For a daily home treatment, you can use a pumice stone after soaking your feet in warm water for a while or after showering, although it can also be used dry. You can also use a cream exfoliant to remove dead skin cells. If you want to moisturize and exfoliate at the same time, you can opt for a homemade recipe made with body oil and sugar.
MOISTURIZES YOUR FEET
Incorporate foot moisturizer into your daily routine with body cream or a foot moisturizer specifically for this area. Do this when you have enough time for the cream to absorb; never put on your shoes right after moisturizing.
Avoid these creams in the areas between your toes because they can cause bacteria to grow due to excess moisture.
TAKE CARE OF YOUR NAILS
Nail clipping is another basic foot care routine, and several important guidelines must be followed. The cut should be straight, not rounded, but should follow the shape of the toe and not cut the tips.
MASSAGE YOUR FEET
It is a beneficial act because it activates circulation, reduces fatigue and anxiety, and relaxes (it is even beneficial for falling asleep).
A few minutes will be enough for the massage, and you can do it with your fingers, with specific devices, or even by rolling a tennis ball on the floor.
PROTECT YOUR FEET
Be careful in the sun. Yes, your feet also need to be protected from UV rays, so they'll also need sunscreen if you're exposed for long periods of time. Also, remember to remove your flip-flops or shoes to avoid marks.
Be careful with the cold. Avoid sudden changes in temperature. For example, if your feet are cold, don't place them directly on an extreme heat source like a heater. Feet, like any other part of the body, need to gradually recover their temperature.
In winter, try to keep your feet warm and protected from water and moisture. In summer, try not to wear closed shoes all the time and let your feet breathe.
Remember to wear flip-flops in showers at sports facilities and swimming pools.
CHOOSE GOOD FOOTWEAR
Choosing good footwear is one of the most important steps to keeping your feet healthy. In the previous sections, we've covered important aspects and basic foot care, but it's also important to choose good women's shoes , whether for everyday use , bridal wear, or party wear .
Whenever possible, wear shoes made from natural materials (such as leather), as they allow for greater breathability and are more flexible. It's also important to choose good socks made from natural fibers like cotton or wool.
Avoid wearing the same shoe two days in a row. Let the shoe dry completely for hygiene and to allow the leather to regain its shape.
Try to buy or try on shoes in the afternoon, when your feet are most swollen from the day. Make sure your shoes feel comfortable from the start, flexible, and allow for toe movement. Don't buy shoes expecting them to give in because they're made of leather.
